Lycoming County residents and businesses will remit tax payments for the 4th quarter of 2024 and file tax year 2024 final earned income tax returns with Keystone. Instructions for tax year 2024 will be mailed to businesses in late December and to taxpayers in early January 2025.
“Keystone is very pleased to serve the taxpayers of Lycoming County. Residents and businesses will find the process is so much easier with online filing and payment” said Joe Lazzaro, Keystone’s executive vice president. “We are excited to offer Lycoming County the many benefits of Keystone’s online filing. It’s the best way to ensure compliance while filing and paying securely.”
State law requires Pennsylvania residents with earned income (wages, salaries and net profits) to file a local tax return. Taxpayers must file a return even if your employer withheld your tax from payroll, if you do not have a balance due and you are not expecting a refund.
Online filing is the easiest way to complete your obligation because only a minimal amount of information is required, and most calculations can be processed within the system, minimizing errors. If tax is owed, payment can be securely submitted at the time of filing or scheduled for a future date. Paper filing and payment remittance are nonetheless also available.
If a taxpayer’s employer does not withhold the tax, or if the individual is self-employed, they must report the tax quarterly. Quarterly reporting may be completed online using Keystone e-file (efile.KeystoneCollects.com). Businesses can report employee withholdings online by accessing Keystone’s Business Portal (business.KeystoneCollects.com).
Employers can attend a free workshop on Monday, December 16 from 1-2 pm at the Loyalsock Township Recreation Center, 1607 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701. The workshop is open to all employers. No registration is needed to attend the workshop. Keystone will meet with employers to answer questions and enroll them in the online Business Portal.
“At our workshop, we will show that it takes just minutes to file local payroll tax withholding with a secure, user-friendly Business Portal application,” said Lazzaro.
Taxpayers can visit Keystone’s website KeystoneCollects.com to obtain answers to frequently asked questions, forms, and more information or to contact Servicios al contribuyente de Keystone for assistance.
