Customer Service Representative, Tax Data Specialist

Job Summary

The Customer Service  Representative /Tax Data Specialist will  process incoming and outgoing calls from employers about their accounts and files to pay their local Earned Income Tax and Local Service Tax withholdings for their employees. This position resides in our Business Portal team.  Assist with other tasks to continue training and development as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to utilize internal software application to open taxpayer accounts
  • Handle incoming calls from employers
  • Make outgoing call to employers
  • Intermediate research
  • Assist employers with the Business Portalsystem
  • Make minor decisions based on accepted Keystone policies, practices, and procedures

Secondary Responsibilities

  •   Answer different types of employer inquiries received via an email system

Job Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • High school graduate or have an equivalency certificate (GED)
  • Previous experience with software applications 
  • Keep up-to-date regarding changes in daily responsibilities or job processes
  • Ability to listen and retain knowledge
  • Ask questions only of Trainer or designated backup Trainer
  • Work in a steady consistent manner while limiting distractions
  • Continue to increase knowledge in all areas to attend to the needs of the department
  • Recognize and correct errors and learn from mistakes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Keyboarding 
  • Ability to learn and utilize software programs 
  • Strong customer service phone skills
  • Basic MS Office Suite knowledge (Outlook to retrieve emails, Word)
  • Resource web sites including but not limited to DCED, real estate web sites, and Accurint as necessary

Work is performed 80% remotely; 20% onsite in office
