How do I respond to a delinquent/past due local per capita or occupation tax notice?

Keystone Collections Group serves as the per capita and occupation tax collector for various jurisdictions. If records show that a resident has failed to pay the applicable taxes, Keystone will mail a delinquent tax notice including information on how to resolve the delinquency.

Pennsylvania law authorizes the collection of delinquent tax by wage garnishment.

Remit Payment or Response

Pay your delinquent tax account online using Keystone’s ePay.

If you believe you are exempt from the per capita or occupation tax, file an exemption request online using Keystone’s ePay. An exemption request must be submitted each year.

Wage Garnishment

A wage garnishment is a request made by the Tax Collector directing an individual’s employer or the individual’s spouse’s employer, to withhold and remit a portion of the employee’s pay to satisfy a delinquent tax. No court order is required for wage garnishment. The employer is required to withhold up to 10% of your gross wages, commissions or other earnings, until such time that the balance is paid in full.

To prevent or resolve a wage garnishment, you must either pay the total balance or provide supporting documents evidencing that the tax is not owed. Supporting documentation can be uploaded at pay.KeystoneCollects.com or by completing a Contact form
